Job summary

Hawaiʻi Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (HANO) seeks a Communications Manager to steward external communications and digital presence, translating priorities into compelling content across channels. You’ll collaborate with the Vice President of Network Strategy to engage Hawaiʻi's nonprofit sector and its members.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to create content for diverse audiences.
• Exceptional storytelling skills across channels and audiences.
• Social media management with analytics knowledge.
• Content creation including basic photography, videography, and graphic design.
• Website management with CMS and basic HTML knowledge.
• Experience with CRM platforms and email distribution.
• Customer service and warm member support.
• Experience supporting media relations and press materials.
• Ability to juggle high volume work and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Execute brand strategy and translate priorities into clear communications.
• Draft, edit, and disseminate newsletters, reports, social content, and website text.
• Develop and manage an integrated communications calendar across channels.
• Identify stories showing impact of Hawaiʻi's nonprofit sector and engage audiences.
• Maintain a consistent HANO voice across communications channels.
• Manage day-to-day digital presence and email communications.
• Create and distribute digital content highlighting programs, advocacy, and partners.
• Develop templates, graphics, and promotional materials.
• Monitor digital trends and use data to strengthen content.
