Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College seeks an Executive Director of Strategic Communications to serve as the college’s senior communications strategist. You will lead development, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive internal and external communications aligning with the college’s mission, vision, and priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications and related areas.
• Minimum seven (7) years of supervisory or leadership experience managing professionals, projects, budgets, or initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for internal and external communications aligned with institutional priorities.
• Oversee media relations, crisis communications, and executive messaging for senior administrators.
• Develop integrated communications campaigns across multiple platforms and audiences.
• Lead branding, reputation management, and storytelling to elevate institutional visibility.
