Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required with five years of relevant experience.
• Ability to manage media relations and act as a spokesperson.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage SCDOT media relations and respond to media requests.
• Write and edit news releases, speeches, articles and scripts.
• Coordinate with Public Information Officers to ensure consistent messaging.
• Develop tracking systems for media requests and news coverage.
• Plan events, news conferences, tours and media interviews.
• Protect confidential information and inform leadership.
