Qualifications

• Significant experience developing and executing strategic communications programs in politics, government, advocacy, or campaigns.
• Proven success growing digital audiences and creating paid communications strategies.
• Strong relationships with local, state, and national press and experience securing proactive coverage.
• Experience serving as an on-the-record spokesperson for senior leaders or elected officials.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills translating policy into clear narratives.
• Ability to shape narratives quickly under pressure and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a proactive communications strategy for the Member and office.
• Serve as a senior communications advisor to the Member and leadership team.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a three-person communications team across Washington, D.C., and Arizona.
• Partner with legislative, district, and scheduling teams to align messaging.
• Draft and oversee speeches, talking points, statements, op-eds, press releases, and other materials.
• Lead day-to-day press operations and act as the primary media liaison and on-the-record spokesperson.
• Build relationships with local, Arizona, and national reporters and pursue coverage.
• Lead press rollouts around legislation, policy priorities, announcements, and major events.
• Shape narratives with legislative partners to highlight coalitions and momentum.
• Develop rapid-response strategies for breaking news and emerging issues.
