Job summary

Forj Medical in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Commodity Manager to develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply base.

You will lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier performance management, and strategic sourcing initiatives with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, and Buyers to support new product introduction and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required.
• 7+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, and commodity management experience.
• 3+ years in the commodity they will manage; experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives including supplier identification, qualification, and selection.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Manage supplier performance through demand forecasting, scorecards, and business reviews.
• Drive cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supply continuity initiatives for sustaining production and transfer projects.
• Partner with Engineering to support supplier selection and speed of delivery for new product introductions.
• Collaborate with Buyers and Planning to resolve material shortages and supplier escalations.
• Lead RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for assigned commodities.
• Monitor commodity markets and identify supply chain risks and opportunities.
• Support supplier audits and corrective action activities with Quality.
• Maintain sourcing documentation and ERP data integrity.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and mentor procurement team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
