Job summary

The First Bank and Trust Company in Wilson, NC is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender to join our team. The role focuses on servicing existing commercial customers while expanding our presence in Wilson and surrounding areas.

You will promote our full suite of financial products, analyze cash flows, underwriting guidelines, and develop new business relationships. A Bachelor's degree and two years lending experience are preferred, with strong communication skills and banking software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
• Two years of lending or underwriting experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn banking software.

Responsibilities

• Achieve commercial lending goals in compliance with growth, profitability, and credit quality objectives.
• Develop relationships with current and potential customers to understand financial needs.
• Promote the bank’s products and services, including digital banking tools.
• Understand underwriting guidelines including cash flows, repayment options and credit terms.
• Maintain a portfolio of existing customers and relationships to support annual new business.
• Coordinate with Credit Administration and Loan Operations to ensure timely underwriting documents.
