Job summary

Ratcliff Construction Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Estimator for commercial construction in Louisiana. The role involves leading the estimating process across hard bid, negotiated, and CMAR projects, and working with estimating, operations, and business development teams to build robust estimates.

You will review plans and specs, perform takeoffs, identify risks, and develop pricing while cultivating subcontractor partnerships and guiding pursuit strategies to support project wins.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
• Experience estimating for a commercial general contractor preferred.
• Experience with hard bid, negotiated, and/or CMAR projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial estimates from setup through final bid submission.
• Develop conceptual budgets and detailed estimates as design progresses.
• Review drawings, specs, addenda, and documents to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, cost exposures, constructability concerns, and risks before bid day.
• Solicit subcontractor participation and develop strong trade partner coverage.
• Develop bid packages and communicate scope expectations to trade partners.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and project teams.
