Job summary

Optum is seeking a Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for WellMed Medical Management in Texas. The CMIO will lead clinical informatics, optimize the EHR, and advance digital health initiatives to improve patient outcomes and clinician experience.

You will partner with IT, Population Health, and Quality leaders to drive value-based care across WellMed. The role requires medical board certification, a Texas license, and a track record in enterprise technology and AI-enabled care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or MBBS with Texas license is required.
• Demonstrated leadership in physician informatics or clinical technology.
• Experience leading EHR optimization and enterprise technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead WellMed Clinical Informatics program.
• Govern EHR and clinical applications, ensuring adoption and usability.
• Oversee system upgrades, content, decision support, and interoperability.
• Partner with clinicians to improve workflows and outcomes.
• Mentor informatics leaders and manage change initiatives.
