Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in communications.
• Advanced knowledge of environmental issues and environmental advocacy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of print, broadcast, digital, and online communication strategies and media.
• Superb reading comprehension and writing skills, with ability to translate research for broad audiences.
• Superb editing and proofreading skills for spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Careful and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time-management and ability to prioritize under deadlines.
• Familiarity with various social media platforms and Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to manage and maintain Internet websites and pages.

Responsibilities

• Direct external and internal program communications for the Emmett Institute.
• Manage program outreach and provide general program support.
• Develop and execute a strategy for all Institute communications, including media relations and donor communications.
• Draft, edit, and publish news stories, blogs, and other editorial content; respond to journalist inquiries.
• Produce newsletters and email campaigns; manage contact lists and social media presence.
• Prepare annual reports and maintain the Institute's website and online content.
• Support events such as conferences, talks, workshops, and speaker series.
