Overview
The Strategic Client Relationship Manager is the executive point of contact for a key strategic Payer client (at least $1M revenue). The role is charged with developing and executing strategic plans to achieve retention and growth in delivering Payer solutions to our customers. The Strategic Client Relationship Manager is accountable for the profitable growth and deployment of the overall OF Payer portfolio within the client relationship, working directly with customers and internal and external partners to deliver on commitments. Where appropriate, the role will align with the Optum Enterprise CE on customer plans and priorities.
Responsibilities
- Build, nurture and grow intimate, consultative relationships with key Payer clients to understand the client’s strategy and business needs; constantly assess the value that Optum Financial solutions are delivering.
- Lead team members across the organization to develop approaches that increase the value we provide and the impact Optum Financial has on the client’s business.
- Create a value story consistent with the client strategy; work with sales to present the value of Optum Financial solutions to various levels within the client, including executives, decision makers and key influencers; this may include on-site or virtual meetings.
- Ensure service and delivery commitments to the client are met; coordinate and influence service delivery and maintain effective operational interfaces between clients and Optum Financial teams; drive resolution to performance opportunities and issues.
- Negotiate renewals, contractual agreements, statements of work, and performance guarantees; serve as liaison with contracting, legal and finance.
- Ensure realization of expected client savings and Optum Financial revenue growth goals through performance management, contract renewals, and identification/advancement of upsell opportunities in partnership with sales.
- Develop and present reporting of savings achievements, opportunities, and service level agreements.
- Enter timely updates to the appropriate client tracking mechanism (e.g., client planning, opportunity management, contact management, current solution footprint).
- Operate with a sense of urgency to maximize the client experience; act quickly to seize opportunities for innovation and new ways to benefit clients.
- Work effectively in a matrix environment and build relationships internally and externally; drive action and results while maintaining a healthy and productive work environment.
- Ensure customer centricity, high NPS scores and renewal rates, delivery against customer needs and expectations, profitable growth, and representation for the voice of the customer in current and future products and technologies.
- Influence external customers at the VP & C-Suite level as a trusted executive partner.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive experience and leadership roles in the Health Care or Financial industries with a proven record of leading growth programs and delivering measurable results.
- 2+ years of experience in driving deep, productive relationships with C-Suite and senior client executives and Board of Directors (external).
- 2+ years of demonstrated success building and evolving relationships with C-suite and matrixed stakeholders (internal).
- 2+ years of demonstrated track record of active collaboration, engagement, oversight and strategy development of key growth opportunities.
- 2+ years of proven solid strategic planning, analytics, and problem-solving skills.
- 2+ years of proven excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to build credibility and gain the respect and confidence of clients and internal partners.
- 2+ years of a results-oriented style with a high degree of analytical ability and proven critical thinking skills.
- 2+ years of demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership on complex business topics.
- 2+ years of maintaining confidentiality and discretion (situational awareness, high emotional intelligence).
- 2+ years of having a large capacity for work and able to juggle multiple issues/items while maintaining thoughtful consideration with each; delegate work to appropriate staff where necessary.
- 2+ years of ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; foster a cooperative work environment and deal proactively and productively with conflict.

Compensation and Benefits
Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
