Job summary

The State of Illinois seeks a Chief Financial Officer for the Department on Aging to lead the Division of Finance and Administration, shaping financial policy and directing complex fiscal operations across multiple bureaus.

You will oversee accounting, budget development, procurement, claiming, and grant accountability, while advising executives and coordinating with auditors and state partners. A strategic, results-driven leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration.
• Requires five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in budgeting, finance, or accounting in a public or private organization.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the policy-formulating Chief Financial Officer for the Division of Finance and Administration, directing accounting, budget, procurement, claiming, and grant accountability operations.
• Plans and directs the agency budget development, procurement, accounting, claiming and grant accountability policies and operations.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Directs the division’s response to internal and external auditors.
• Performs other duties within the scope of the listed duties.
