Job summary

Veritas Legal Plan, Inc is seeking a hands-on CFO to take full ownership of the company’s financial function – from day-to-day accuracy to long‑term strategy across multiple affiliated entities.

You’ll partner with the CEO on cash flow, reporting, and decision‑making, build clear financials, drive margins, manage banking, GAAP compliance, and guide multi‑entity finance in a casual office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior financial leadership role.
• Strong cash flow management and operational finance experience.
• Experience with multi-entity structures.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Ability to build systems and scalable processes.
• Advanced Excel and QuickBooks proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with CEO on financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
• Build clear, reliable reporting that reflects business performance.
• Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to improve margins and cash flow.
• Manage daily cash positioning across multiple accounts and entities.
• Oversee fund transfers, reserves, and liquidity planning.
• Own the general ledger, GAAP-compliant financials, and reporting cadence.
• Audit and clean up historical data; oversee billing workflows.
• Oversee insurance programs and tax/compliance across entities.
• Coordinate with external accountants and actuaries for filings.

With over 15 years of operational experience and a growing network of legal partners, the company is entering a phase where stronger financial infrastructure, visibility, and leadership are critical to continued growth.

The Role

We are hiring a hands-on CFO to take full ownership of the company’s (multiple affiliated companies) financial function - from day-to-day accuracy to long-term strategy.

Experience with Captive Insurance, State Insurance reporting, and pivot tables preferred

Casual office environment. If you’re looking for a purely high-level, boardroom-only CFO role, this is not it.

What You’ll Own:

- Work directly with CEO on financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making

- Build clear, reliable reporting that reflects business performance

- Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to improve margins and cash flow

Cash Flow & Banking

- Manage daily cash positioning across multiple accounts and entities

- Oversee fund transfers, reserves, and liquidity planning

- Maintain banking relationships and financial controls

Accounting & Reporting

- Own the general ledger and ensure GAAP-compliant financials

- Deliver accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting

- Audit and clean up historical financial data where needed

- Oversee case-based billing workflows to ensure accuracy and completeness

- Eliminate duplicate or missed revenue

- Improve tracking and reporting systems

Insurance & Risk

- Manage all company insurance programs (health, liability, workers comp, cyber, etc.)

- Evaluate coverage, renewals, and cost optimization

Tax & Compliance

- Coordinate with external accountants and actuaries

- Ensure timely tax filings and estimated payments

- Maintain compliance across multiple entities

Multi-Entity Financial Management

- Oversee bookkeeping, loan payments, and reporting across multiple companies

- Ensure compliance with leases, taxes, and operational obligations

Operational Support

- Act as financial point of contact for key vendors

- Support internal teams with financial clarity

What We’re Looking For

- 5+ years in a senior financial leadership role

- Strong experience in cash flow management and operational finance

- Experience with multi-entity structures

- Strong understanding of GAAP

- Ability to build systems

- Advanced Excel and QuickBooks proficiency

Preferred

- Experience in legal or case-based environments

- CPA or MBA

- Must operate strategically and tactically

- Must fix problems, not just report them

- Must be comfortable in a growing environment

Compensation

$120,000–$150,000 annually, plus health, vision, and dental insurance, and a 3% company-matched retirement plan.
