Job summary

Bell & Associates is engaged to recruit a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer for a PE-backed client. The CFO will partner with the CEO, Board, and sponsor to lead finance and accounting, strengthen infrastructure, and drive profitability and cash flow across multiple locations in the US and Canada.

The role requires 12+ years in finance with 5+ years as CFO/VP Finance, PE experience, and a track record of audits, ERP implementations, and value creation through M&A and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• 12+ years in finance including 5+ years as CFO or VP Finance.
• Experience in a private equity-owned company with interaction with sponsors, boards, and lenders.
• Experience in inventory-intensive, multi-location businesses such as distribution or manufacturing.
• Audits, ERP implementations, and finance-process improvements; strong financial modelling and due diligence for M&A.
• Hands-on leader capable of operating in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic partner to CEO, Board, and PE sponsor on financial performance, strategy, capital allocation and value creation.
• Lead finance and accounting functions including reporting, controllership, FP&A, treasury, tax, risk management and internal controls.
• Lead annual financial-statement audit and establish audit-ready processes and controls.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting, and financial analytics focusing on margins, profitability, inventory, and performance.
• Strengthen cash-flow forecasting and working capital management across AR/AP/inventory.
• Oversee multi-entity reporting in the US and Canada, including consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Lead ERP platform selection and related finance-process automation initiatives.
• Support acquisitions with financial evaluation, due diligence, financing, and liaising with lenders and investors.
• Lead financial integration of acquisitions and post-closing integration of reporting and controls.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, procurement, and distribution to improve performance and build a capable finance team.
