Job summary

AbbVie in Florham Park, NJ is seeking an Associate Director of Category Management for Primary Packaging Injectables. You will partner with VP-level stakeholders to develop global procurement strategies and drive value across the category.

You will lead cross-functional teams at AbbVie manufacturing sites, define strategic value drivers with suppliers, integrate ESG measures, and manage procurement risks while delivering cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Mgmt or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience.
• Experience leading category teams and reporting to senior leaders.
• Pharmaceutical industry knowledge preferred.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement processes, develop global procurement strategies, monitor contracts, and execute process improvements.
• Build a comprehensive annual strategic plan for the category.
• Lead a cross-functional team at AbbVie manufacturing sites to inform strategic decisions.
• Define and develop strategic value drivers with key category suppliers.
• Integrate ESG measures into category strategies with suppliers.
• Lead Supplier Management & Innovation strategies.
• Develop mitigation strategies to identify and manage procurement risk.
• Direct cross-functional teams to deliver category-related projects.
• Own negotiation preparation and lead negotiations with key suppliers.
