Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Webster, TX seeks a Category Manager - Non-Clinical to lead end-to-end sourcing and category management for Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and other non-clinical spend. This role develops data-driven category strategies, leads complex negotiations, and manages supplier performance across multiple functions.

You will partner with Contracting, Finance, Legal, Value Analysis, and operations to achieve savings, quality, service, and risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Health Care Administration, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement with a focus on indirect/non-clinical categories.
• Equivalency to education and experience may be considered per UTMB policy.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a defined portfolio of non-clinical spend categories, contracts, and annual spend.
• Develop and maintain category strategies and roadmaps using spend data, market research, and TCO models.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing events, RFx/RFPs, and negotiate contracts with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance scorecards, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Collaborate with Contracting, Finance, Legal, Value Analysis, and operational leaders to achieve savings and value.
