Advantage Technical is hiring Category Buyers to support purchasing and strategic sourcing in Dearborn, MI. This hybrid role covers Direct, Indirect, and Services Purchasing, with Direct purchasing experience given the highest priority.

The role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, leading RFQs and negotiations, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while ensuring purchasing compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply chain, supplier management, manufacturing, or operations.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, or project management preferred.
• Automotive or manufacturing purchasing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing and sourcing strategies.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and negotiations.
• Lead RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Analyze supplier pricing, market trends, and purchasing data.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Support supplier risk management and purchasing compliance.
