Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Category Analyst to join the Diagnostics, Products and Services Portfolio team. You will analyze spend, conduct sourcing projects, negotiate pricing, and manage supplier relationships to deliver operational savings.

Key responsibilities include spend analysis, collaborating with Category Managers, leading lower-dollar sourcing projects, using Power BI and PeopleSoft for reporting, and coordinating contract maintenance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in business, economics or a scientific discipline, or the equivalent in education and experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in selection, implementation and management of supplier contracts, with demonstrated results (cost, quality, service improvement).
• Experience in managing complex, multi-functional projects.
• Healthcare or Diagnostics’ industry experience highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Office 365 and ERP systems like PeopleSoft is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform spend analysis for assigned portfolios and categories to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Category Managers and Stakeholders on sourcing initiatives.
• Lead lower-dollar sourcing projects and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
• Utilize sourcing tools including Power BI and PeopleSoft for reporting and analytics.
• Drive spend to preferred suppliers and improve standardization of key goods and services.
• Build relationships with Quest end-users and supplier leadership to resolve performance issues.
• Develop strategy and execute projects to deliver on savings targets.
• Support new acquisitions and pricing changes as needed.
• Prepare data for RFP/RFQ/RFI and assist with portfolio activities.
