Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 / year

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Corporate Procurement Strategic Sourcing Manager. For assigned categories in the Real Estate & Facilities portfolio, the successful candidate will develop, champion, and ensure implementation of ideas and strategies that will optimize total cost of ownership year‑over‑year. This position manages strategic category management and sourcing activities for Facilities Management and Maintenance Outsourcing Program, various construction, architecture and other facilities management programs. In addition, the position will manage strategic category management and sourcing activities for the Enterprise. The successful candidate will be required to achieve significant initial cost reductions and value‑added services profit/earnings contribution, while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. The role works closely and inclusively with key stakeholders to develop effective cost‑reduction strategies and implementation plans. The Category Manager’s primary responsibility is to utilize strategic sourcing best practices to capture real savings while making effective supply‑base decisions. This includes direct savings captured through consolidating company‑wide purchasing volume and applying operational and commercial TCO levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers. The professional will work in a hybrid capacity requiring 3 days onsite at our Secaucus, NJ location.

Responsibilities
  • Category Management Strategies – Individual will be responsible for:
  • Developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories.
  • Understanding the global landscape of assigned categories, including supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, total available market value (TAM), market trends, and cost impactors.
  • Performing category spend analytics across the Quest Diagnostics enterprise.
  • Tracking forecasted versus actual savings and performance indicators for the assigned category and communicating results and budgetary impact.
  • Influencing internal operational and other stakeholders regarding procurement requirements to ensure they are included in the category strategy.
  • Developing strategic roadmaps with suppliers to support company’s future business needs. Managing the Supplier Business Engagement Model, ensuring active and open communication and leveraging supplier capabilities.
  • Structuring and influencing make‑vs‑buy‑vs‑outsource decisions.
  • Leading sourcing project execution, influencing and establishing project requirements with internal stakeholders.
  • Defining and executing detailed plans to establish new supplier relationships and nurture existing relationships, culminating in contractual arrangements that support category strategies and sourcing projects.
  • Providing regular, consistent measurement reports to internal customers that bring visibility on category‑level compliance and savings.
  • Identifying, qualifying, ranking, and selecting appropriate suppliers in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Developing negotiation strategies and driving negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers, including pricing, cost savings plans, delivery terms, payment terms, risk mitigation plans, quality terms, product development plans, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzing risks and benefits of sourcing decisions and presenting proposals with risk analysis.
  • Making sourcing recommendations and decisions based on financial analysis, category cost structures, supplier alignment with Quest Diagnostics goals, and supplier positioning.
  • Leading cross‑functional negotiating teams targeting key spend categories.
  • Defining target groups and obtaining buy‑in for new projects that align with Quest Diagnostics vision, goals, and strategies.
  • Managing ongoing supplier relationships to ensure best‑in‑class pricing, quality, continuity of goods and services, and alignment with internal goals.
  • Monitoring contract compliance and business alignment with business area leadership.
  • Conducting regular supplier performance reviews and cost management initiatives with internal client leadership participation.
  • Acting as a first escalation point for supplier performance issues and coordinating resolution.
  • Managing day‑to‑day relationships and solving conflicts candidly.
Qualifications
Required (Basic/Minimum Qualifications)
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Successful 5‑year track record in a global procurement organization.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated teamwork ability.
  • Strong influencing, change management, and negotiation skills.
  • Multiple years of experience with strategic cost management techniques, including cost analysis, cost modeling, cost‑take‑out work, and risk analysis.
  • Ability to present and advocate sourcing cases to a variety of audiences with self‑confidence.
  • Proven problem‑solving pattern.
  • Knowledge of supply management strategies and tools.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Passion for setting and meeting aggressive goals.
