Job summary

American Water is seeking a Lead, Capital Markets Analyst to deliver deep treasury analyses, guide capital structure decisions, and support financing activity across the company. The role includes rating agency communications, regulatory filing support, and mentoring junior staff.

The position offers a competitive base salary between $115,000 and $125,000, with an annual incentive plan and comprehensive benefits. A strong background in finance within the utilities sector is preferred.

Qualifications

7-10 years proven experience in a finance or treasury related position.
Bachelor’s Degree in financing, accounting or economics required

Responsibilities

Provide treasury management with comprehensive and objective financial analyses and recommendations regarding capital structure and financing strategies.
Drive analysis in support of capital structure and cost of capital testimony for rate cases.
Own credit metric analysis and inform senior management for rating discussions with Agencies.
Support financing activity for the organization (debt/equity) and regulatory filings.
Mentor junior staff and guide state/regional teams on treasury processes.
Prepare and maintain debt/equity schedules and reports from Hyperion.
