Job summary

University of Minnesota is seeking a Director of Facilities and Operations to lead campus operations, maintenance, and construction projects. The role requires strategic planning, budget oversight, and cross-functional collaboration with university leadership.

The position is full-time, 12-month, in-person with a salary range of $98,000–$125,000 and comprehensive benefits. You will manage plant systems, safety, and compliance while guiding facilities staff and external partners.

• Eight years of progressive facilities management experience.
• Experience with planning, budgeting and capital projects.
• Strong time management, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct the maintenance, repair, housekeeping, grounds keeping, and plant operations.
• Develop and implement project plans balancing human and financial resources.
• Coordinate with university administrators and comply with building codes and policies.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and reporting.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and compliance.
• Supervise sub-departments and foster staff development.
• Ensure safety, environmental health, and regulatory compliance.
