Job summary

National Education Association is seeking to fill a Regular, full-time position in Washington, DC. The incumbent will support the Campaigns and Elections department in the Center for Advocacy and Political Action, providing consulting on strategic planning, resources allocation, and training development to advance NEA’s political priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• Experience in strategic planning, crisis management, public relations, and legislative/political action.
• Must be able to work weekends and late evenings; extensive travel (over 90 overnights per year) is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as consultant for strategic planning activities and assist in developing short, mid, and long-term plans to advance political goals.
• Develop and deliver training; plan, organize, and allocate resources (budget, staff, materials) for assigned tasks.
• Build and maintain relationships with U.S. Senators, Representatives, and congressional staff to advance NEA priorities.
• Coordinate certification elections and broader affiliate advocacy initiatives; draft comprehensive written reports.
