Why you should join:

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services, gathering quotations, examining bids, and awarding contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability, and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure the best quality at the best value. They also identify and recommend cost-saving proposals, including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria, as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Your main tasks:

  • Identify and develop suppliers for new technologies and address capacity issues
  • Run competitive bidding processes
  • Conduct supplier negotiations post-RFQ process
  • Create sourcing decision support documents
  • Problem-solve with suppliers and internal functions
  • Represent Procurement in core team meetings
  • Understand customer requirements and deploy actions accordingly
  • Support other departments in achieving TE targets of TTM, savings, quality, delivery, and localization
  • Contribute to implementing TE Procurement strategy
  • Adhere to current quality and environmental policies and responsibilities

Your ideal background:

  • Mechanical engineer (preferred but not mandatory)
  • 5 years experience in procurement
  • 3+ years experience in automotive
  • Knowledge in assembly processes
  • Broad technical understanding of production processes
  • Experience with quality management systems
  • Motivated personality with analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of different production methods
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, matrix environment
  • Customer focus and continuous improvement attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English and/or German at negotiation level
  • Driver's license class B
  • Willing to travel
