Job summary

Amsted Rail is seeking a procurement professional in Camp Hill, PA to manage direct and indirect purchasing within SAP, aligning with budgets and SOP forecasts. You will coordinate with production, scheduling, and quality teams to reduce shortages and improve material velocity.

The role requires 2–5 years of buyer experience, a Bachelor degree, and the ability to travel up to 50%. Primary duties include negotiating quotes, maintaining purchasing data, and supporting corporate working capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a technical or business discipline.
• 2-5 years of buyer experience.
• PC skills with proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, with preference for SAP.
• Willing to travel – up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain direct and indirect purchase orders in SAP and review requisitions for compliance with budgets.
• Provide supply chain inputs and data for monthly S&OP meetings and communicate shortages in daily production meetings.
• Obtain quotes, evaluate bids and negotiate price and delivery for requirements.
• Collaborate with operations to maximize material velocity and minimize disruptions due to shortages.
• Develop and implement methods for inputting purchasing data and manage timely invoice payments.
• Develop supplier programs to meet cost savings and inventory reduction targets.
• Build relationships with strategic suppliers to improve performance.
• Train employees on procurement procedures and work instructions.
