Job summary

Bush Hog is seeking a Buyer II to integrate purchasing and materials planning in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on optimizing cost, delivery performance and supplier quality while supporting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Under supervision, you will manage POs in JDE, negotiate terms, source new suppliers and maintain accurate ERP data. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be competent or willing to become competent in JDE ERP system.
• Experience with purchasing, scheduling and supplier management in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update supply chain parameters and POs in the JDE ERP system.
• Evaluate and manage weekly exception reports for production planning.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and freight terms with suppliers.
• Source to new suppliers and test alternate commodities with RFQs.
• Ensure pricing and supplier data are current in the ERP system.
• Support new product launches via Stage Gate processes and ISIR where required.
• Manage inventory levels to meet company objectives and improve delivery performance.
• Identify and lead saving projects; track PPV vs budget and implement cost-reduction actions.
• Maintain professionalism in all internal and external business interactions.
