Job summary

You will interact with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, liaise with internal departments on purchasing, negotiate terms, manage supplier relationships, and maintain inventory levels with cycle counting to support customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or related work experience.
• 3–5 years of purchasing or material planning experience.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Interact with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and avoid shortages.
• Interface between suppliers and Knapheide departments on purchasing.
• Negotiate cost-effective decisions based on volumes.
• Build and manage supplier relationships and communicate clearly.
• Monitor supply issues and assess risks/opportunities.
• Work with Fleet and Truck Pool regarding material specs.
• Manage inventory levels to support customer requirements.
• Inventory control and cycle counting functions.
• Collaborate on procurement process improvements.
• Resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers.
• Perform all purchasing activities as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
