Job summary

Hyson, Brecksville, OH, is seeking a Buyer to manage end-to-end procurement for direct and indirect materials supporting our precision manufacturing operations. You will balance day-to-day purchasing with supplier relationship management and sourcing activities to ensure timely, cost-competitive material availability and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience issuing and managing purchase orders, expediting, and resolving supplier delivery issues.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems for purchasing transactions and data management (e.g., JBA, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office suite for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of import/export compliance requirements, Incoterms, and international sourcing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders for direct materials and indirect/MRO supplies.
• Monitor open POs to ensure on-time delivery and communicate supply risks.
• Resolve problem shipments and invoicing discrepancies with suppliers.
• Conduct supplier sourcing and evaluation activities, including RFQ processes and supplier selection.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships as primary contact for assigned suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to drive cost competitiveness.
• Track supplier performance against cost, quality, delivery, and service metrics.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and finance to align procurement with business needs.
• Support new product development and engineering changes by sourcing materials or suppliers as needed.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP; keep item master and lead times current.
