Job summary

Powell is seeking a Buyer to manage an assigned set of commodities and align the supply chain to meet demand at the total lowest cost. You will work to implement stocking programs, manage PPV, and deliver cost savings through projects at local and corporate levels.

Responsibilities include ensuring POs are placed on time, adjusting supplier schedules, and maintaining accurate PO data in Oracle. APICS certification is preferred, sponsorship/relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree Preferred) in Purchasing and Supply Chain experience (engineered to order manufacturing environment preferred).
• APICS Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Purchase Orders are placed on time and in accordance with Powell’s Grants of Authority.
• Adjust Suppliers Delivery Schedules to support our customers’ schedule changes and communicate shortages/expedite PO status.
• Reduce overall cost by delivering savings from Cost Reduction Projects.
• Develop action plans for worst performing suppliers to improve delivery or exit them as needed; maintain inventory controls.
• Ensure PO information is accurate to expedite supplier invoices.
• Disposition Non-Conforming Material back to suppliers to minimize delays.
• Maintain purchasing data within Oracle (Lead Times, Pricing, MOQs).
• Work with Inventory team to dispose excess/obsolete inventory.
• Adhere to Powell Safety Rules.
