Job summary

Eaton in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Strategic Buyer to procure parts and services with complex requirements. The role focuses on non-standard purchases and supplier relationships within a high-mix, low-volume environment.

You will manage ITAR procurement, collaborate on capacity planning, and drive producibility and obsolescence decisions to meet customer demands. A manufacturing background and SAP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of two years in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or related roles.
• Ability to work in a matrix environment; strong communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Procure parts and services with complex or custom requirements, focusing on non-standard purchases.
• Drive part deactivation and reactivation processes to meet customer demands.
• Collaborate in aftermarket quoting with commercial teams.
• Manage producibility decisions for the plant (dormant parts / none process / supplier unknown).
• Oversee in-site transitions (supplier movement / gate processes / ramp up / ramp down) based on risk matrix.
• Manage all ITAR and undisclosed-program procurement activities.
• Receive, validate and communicate engineering specs with support from Engineering.
• Engage suppliers in tender preparation and define responsibilities for delivery.
• Manage material forecast collaboration and obtain capacity commitments from suppliers.
