Job Summary

The Strategic Business Lead is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to support Point32Health's efforts in diversifying its business and growing its Commercial Division profitably. This role involves leading the identification, evaluation, development, and implementation of new Specialty Products, providing leadership, consultation, facilitation, insight, and analytics to achieve growth goals. Additionally, the role focuses on prioritizing strategic projects for the Commercial Division, including framing processes, defining success metrics, establishing governance, synthesizing research, testing hypotheses, and coordinating teams.

This individual assesses internal and external resources and opportunities, synthesizes data, and makes strategic recommendations to senior leaders. Collaborating with executives and cross-functional teams, they drive large-scale projects from strategy to implementation, demonstrating leadership, business acumen, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. The role requires extensive experience in market evaluation, strategy formulation, and leading complex work streams across organizational functions. Supporting Commercial Division leadership, the role also focuses on leveraging new product and service opportunities.

Job Description

  • Lead the opportunity funnel from ideation to evaluation, strategy development, and implementation for Specialty Products initiatives.
  • Partner with the Commercial team to identify innovative product and service strategies.
  • Engage with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand challenges and strategic goals.
  • Build, manage, and prioritize a pipeline of ideas aligned with strategic focus areas.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation based on business, customer, provider, and member needs.
  • Conduct market research, discovery interviews, and define market entry strategies.
  • Analyze findings, recommend product features, value propositions, and rollout plans.
  • Explore market vendors and technologies; make build/buy/partner recommendations.
  • Lead partner evaluation, support contract negotiations, and oversee third-party support.
  • Assess business needs and capabilities; develop business cases and financial models.
  • Pitch ideas to senior leadership to secure approval and funding.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and oversee implementation, including QA testing.
  • Communicate project milestones and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify solutions to obstacles and establish tracking mechanisms for effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree; MBA preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in consultative and advisory roles.
  • Knowledge of health plans, employer benefits, strategy, and business development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and market evaluation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
