Job summary

Drake University is seeking a Budget Manager for the College of Arts and Sciences in Des Moines. You will manage the college’s $16 million operating budget, supervise HR processes, and oversee transnational programs, reporting to the Dean with strong collaboration across campus.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, plus four years of experience; a master’s degree and Workday experience are preferred. Salary is competitive with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field.
• Minimum of four years of related professional experience.
• Excellent written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the College’s operating budget, restricted and endowed funds, grants, and other designated funds.
• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial reports for the Dean and college leadership.
• Monitor budget performance, identify trends and variances, and provide forecasts and analysis.
• Advise on resource alignment to support the college’s mission and priorities.
• Oversee HR processes for faculty and staff and collaborate with HR, Payroll, Budget & Finance.
• Coordinate budgeting for transnational programs and liaise with Global Affairs budget managers.
