Job summary

The City of Lancaster, Texas is seeking an analytical and strategic professional to serve as Assistant to the City Manager - Budget in the City Manager's Office. This role coordinates the annual budget, supports the CIP, and provides forecasts and analyses to guide City operations.

The ideal candidate translates fiscal data into actionable recommendations, communicates clearly with executive leadership, and upholds stewardship of city resources and priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible professional experience in municipal budgeting, financial analysis, government finance, accounting, or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the development and administration of the city's annual operating and capital budgets.
• Develop multi-year financial forecasts and analyze funding levels, operating costs, and revenues.
• Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and budget workshops for City Council.
• Support CIP development, monitor budget performance, and provide timely financial recommendations.
• Translate complex financial data into clear recommendations for leadership and the public.
