Job summary

The Texas Water Development Board seeks a Budget Officer II to perform journey-level budget preparation and analysis, ensuring allocations align with agency goals. You will prepare operating budgets, generate reports, and advise on actions to stay within budget.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in a relevant field and at least one year of related experience; ABEST and Excel skills are preferred. The role may require driving and occasional travel within Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• One year of relevant work experience in financial management, bookkeeping or budget preparation and analysis.
• Education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze budgets and performance measures.
• Monitor budgets and program performance; provide expenditure data and recommendations.
• Maintain confidential information and ensure records retention procedures are followed.
• Train others as needed and operate a vehicle if required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
