Job summary

The State of Florida’s Department of Health has an opening for a Budget Analyst-SES. The role focuses on preparing and analyzing budgets, coordinating with division staff, and ensuring compliance with budget requirements in a government setting.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with financial data, budget preparation, and cross‑functional collaboration, with daily in-office work and potential for emergency duties if needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of reviewing, analyzing and evaluating financial data.
• one year of verifiable experience in assisting with an operational budget.
• one year of verifiable experience interacting with providers/vendors/stakeholders.
• May be required to perform emergency duties and/or work outside normal hours.
• This position requires daily in-office or fieldwork and US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the agency’s annual operating budget.
• Assist with the preparation of budget documents per county health department model.
• Assist with division operating budgets and data in budget systems.
• Coordinate monthly budget meetings with Division staff.
• Provide technical guidance on contract management reports and budget variances.
