Job summary

Bangor Savings Bank is seeking an Internal Auditor to perform day-to-day audit activities with a focus on branch operations. You will support regulatory, financial statement, and FDICIA audit work under the Director of Audit, handling sensitive information with discretion.

You will interact across all bank lines, document evidence, and communicate findings clearly, contributing to risk-based improvements and ongoing audit program enhancements.

Qualifications

• College degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field; relevant experience preferred.
• Previous audit experience preferred.
• Financial services or banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform regular audits of branch operations per risk assessment and audit schedule.
• Document audit procedures, evidence, results, and exceptions thoroughly.
• Identify control gaps and provide risk-based recommendations.
• Communicate audit results to management and discuss findings.
• Coordinate with external auditors, examiners, and other audit partners.
• Assist with annual FDIC examination preparation and FDICIA testing.
