Precigen, a biopharmaceutical company, is hiring a Procurement Manager in Germantown, MD. The role oversees end-to-end procurement across commercial and R&D functions, negotiating contracts and driving supplier diversity and risk‑managed procurement practices.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field (master’s preferred), 5+ years in procurement, strong negotiation, and ERP experience with NetSuite or SAP. Fluency in cross‑functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field (master’s degree preferred) or 4-6 years of related experience.
• Supplier Relationship Management (SRP), and 5+ yrs of Pharma experience, Biotech preferred
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, and planning (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, project management skills and familiarity with global sourcing and logistics.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, EU GMP, ICH Q7, and pharmaceutical supplier qualification requirements.
• ERP experience with NetSuite or SAP
• Certifications in supply chain (APICS, CPM, CPSM) preferred
• Coordinate with manufacturing, logistics and Finance

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end procurement across materials, services, equipment, and engineering.
• Negotiate contracts to improve terms, lead times, price, and quality.
• Develop strategic sourcing for APIs, intermediates, excipients, solvents, and packaging.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of compliant materials while optimizing cost and risk.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks from single sources and regulatory changes.
• Oversee receiving and three-way match in ERP to support invoicing.
