Job summary

3E is seeking a Benefits & Payroll Specialist in the United States to own the day-to-day administration of U.S. benefits programs and support multi-state payroll, including Canada.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance, resolve discrepancies, and help ensure accurate and compliant benefits and payroll operations. In this role you will manage enrollments, quantitative reconciliations, annual testing, renewals, and open enrollment, while partnering with our payroll provider to ensure timely

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR experience focusing on U.S. benefits, payroll, and compliance.
• 4+ years of hands-on U.S. benefits administration, including 401(k).
• 3+ years of U.S. multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience managing vendor relationships.
• Based in the US in one of the states where 3E is authorized to hire, and eligible to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration of U.S. benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k)).
• Manage enrollments, changes, and carrier bill reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
• Administer the U.S. 401(k) plan: inquiries, recordkeeper coordination, annual testing, audit support.
• Support benefits renewals, open enrollment, U.S. leave programs, and workers’ compensation.
• Partner with payroll provider to support accurate U.S. multi-state and Canadian payroll.
• Review payroll inputs, reports, deductions, and outputs; resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate state/provincial registrations and tax setup; support year-end activities.
• Serve as primary contact for payroll and benefits vendors; manage issues to resolution.
• Maintain SOPs and internal controls for accurate operations.
• Identify ways to improve reporting, reconciliations, and processes for efficiency.
• Support additional HR operations as needed.
