Job summary

We Do The Search is seeking a Business Development Representative in Farmington Hills, MI to drive new opportunities and grow key accounts. You will work with engineering, product development and commercial teams to identify applications and influence material choices throughout development and qualification.

The role emphasizes 70% new business development and 30% account growth, with domestic travel and a direct-hire, full-time employment path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 3 years in B2B sales, business development or account management.
• Proven ability to identify, develop and convert opportunities.
• Strong prospecting, relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
• Experience managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
• Ability to travel domestically across the United States as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans to win new customer opportunities.
• Research target accounts, identify decision-makers and build key relationships.
• Maintain a robust pipeline via prospecting, referrals, events, and market intel.
• Develop opportunities with OEMs and their supply chains (Tier 1–3).
• Promote engineering plastics and material capabilities during early product development.
• Influence material selection with engineering, sourcing and procurement teams.
• Represent the company at industry events and engage stakeholders.
