Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Strategic Project Manager to drive automation projects in the pork industry. This role partners across business units to translate automation needs into innovative design and implementation plans, ensuring cost effectiveness and alignment with standards.

You will coordinate vendors, review bids, manage schedules, and maintain documentation while developing team capabilities and leading by example.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Leadership experience including team development and management.
Ability to apply engineering principles to operational and design issues.
Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
Project management and contract administration skills; familiarity with national codes.

Responsibilities

Design preliminary engineering and materials, with cost estimates and feasibility studies.
Coordinate equipment vendors and manage installation schedules and documentation.
Lead planning, design reviews, reports, and proposals for project goals.
Review bids, prepare budgets, calculations, and schedules for execution.
Drive people development and coaching to foster a positive team environment.
