Job summary

The Associate Director of Development at Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, KY, is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and leading the planned giving program. You will collaborate with faculty and administration, manage a portfolio of 30–50 donors, and travel to cultivate gifts exceeding $25,000.

We seek a seasoned fundraiser with five years of experience, excellent communication, and knowledge of fundraising software and NCAA

Qualifications

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare proposals, reports and correspondence.
• Strong organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to utilize various software and databases connected to university fundraising operations.
• Understanding of NCAA compliance as it relates to donor/boosters engagement and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects (> $25,000).
• Coordinate with faculty and staff to organize grant applications from foundations, federal agencies, and others.
• Assist in leadership of planned giving, developing systems to increase participation and estate gifts.
• Advise the AVP for Institutional Advancement on Major Gift activities and results.
• Manage involvement of the President, senior leadership, trustees in donor cultivation.
• Oversee acknowledgment and recognition for gifts and ensure fundraising goals are met at each level.
• Engage with faculty and Deans to align fundraising priorities with academic goals.
• Manage a portfolio of ~30-50 major gift prospects and document contacts and plans.
• Attend ~15 face-to-face meetings per month with donors and community leaders.
• Collaborate with Annual Giving and Advancement Services to improve prospect management systems.
• Prepare presentations and proposals as needed.
• Travel as necessary to cultivate and solicit major gifts.
• Support the university’s development programs and events.
• Assist with other development initiatives and special projects as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
