Job summary

Howard University’s College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs. The appointee will oversee externally funded research across 17 departments and new centers, and liaise with the University Office of Research to coordinate grants and funding strategies.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate, have strong administrative leadership and a proven record in securing external funding, and will guide TA/graduate funding, research

Qualifications

• Doctorate from an accredited institution.
• Administrative experience in external funding.
• Scholarly, teaching, and professional service commensurate with the rank of tenured full professor.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee externally funded research across 17 departments and new research centers.
• Coordinate with the Office of Research and COAS Grants Academy.
• Manage Teaching Assistantships and graduate funding; oversee research infrastructure.
• Provide college-level leadership in managing and promoting external funding.
