Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison's Division of Extension is seeking an Associate Dean of Operations & External Relations to lead internal operations, policy development, and external partnerships across Wisconsin. The role supervises two Assistant Deans and directs units including HR, communications, IT, and facilities.

Reporting to the Dean, you will shape strategic priorities, collaborate with county, state, federal, and tribal partners, and advance Extension's mission throughout the state.

Qualifications

• At least five years of management experience within a complex organization.
• Proven leader and manager of employees.
• Proven record of building effective working relationships with internal and external entities.
• Experience developing and implementing organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic insight and direction for operations, policy development, and external relations.
• Lead divisional leadership and partnerships to support Extension priorities.
• Manage budget, staff, and cross-functional units such as HR, communications, IT, and facilities.
• Build relationships with federal, state, local and tribal officials to secure external funding.
