Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a Coordinator of Assessment Development and Strategy to design and continuously improve the district's local assessment system, including Demonstrations of Learning (DOLs), interim assessments, and benchmarks aligned to TEKS and STAAR.

The role partners with Curriculum & Instruction to ensure assessments reflect district instructional frameworks and provide real-time data to inform reteach, grouping, and acceleration. Extended hours may be required during peak cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required).
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in assessment development or related field.
• Experience with TEKS/STAAR alignment in a K-12 setting.

Responsibilities

• Designs and improves districtwide local assessments including DOLs, interim assessments, and benchmarks.
• Collaborates with Curriculum & Instruction to ensure alignment to HQIM and IPCs.
• Ensures assessments reflect grade-level rigor aligned to TEKS and STAAR.
• Develops and maintains assessment blueprints, item specifications, and item banks.
• Designs and refines high-quality assessment items for state formats.
• Establishes quality control processes including alignment checks and validation procedures.
• Leads cross-functional work across departments to ensure coherent assessment design.
• Analyzes assessment results to identify trends and inform instructional improvements.
• Supports timely data use for reteach, acceleration, and grouping decisions.
