Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Strategic Analytics Developer, Intermediate in the State Program Analytics group. The role is full-time, with standard weekday hours and flexibility, supporting the CHC program through data infrastructure, regulatory communications, and cross-source analysis.

You will parse complex datasets, drive metric development, and deliver insights to senior leadership, while mentoring teammates and coordinating project timelines to ensure timely results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, data management, healthcare management, business, public health, epidemiology, mathematics, statistics or public policy related field.
• 4+ years of information technology, healthcare, business, or research experience.
• Experience with SQL and/or SAS programming is required.
• Experience with Python or R is valuable.
• Experience with extraction and manipulation of complex data sets is required.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Develop data extraction and integration processes to support analysis, data science, clinical operations, and decision support activities.
• Map out workflows and processes to support metric development and continuous improvement.
• Analyze revenues, expenses, clinical metrics, and social determinants of health to identify opportunities to improve clinical and financial performance.
• Formulate research approaches and communicate results via high-impact reports and presentations.
• Mentor new staff members and provide technical consultation to peers and leadership.
• Manage projects with prioritization, deadlines, and status tracking.
