Child Poverty Action Lab (CPAL) is seeking a senior analytics generalist to answer hard, ambiguous questions for non-technical decision-makers. You will frame real problems, navigate imperfect data, and deliver defensible, decision-ready insights without building data infrastructure.

The role emphasizes consulting-style thinking over engineering, with remote-first work and occasional on-site time in Dallas, reporting to the Head of Strategic Analytics.

Qualifications

• Senior analytics generalist capable of framing ambiguous questions for non-technical decision-makers.
• Experience turning messy, imperfect data into defensible answers and actionable insights.
• Ability to communicate like a consultant and present concise briefs for leaders and partners.

Responsibilities

• Take an ambiguous ask and turn it into an answerable question.
• Work fast with imperfect data.
• Go beyond the literal ask to identify what else is needed and what should not be said publicly.
• Communicate like a consultant by turning analysis into a decision-ready brief (and visuals if helpful).
• Work AI-natively, and verify like it's your name on the answer.
• Build institutional knowledge by documenting assumptions and sources.
