Job summary

Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking an Associate Director of Alumni Class Connections to develop and implement a strategy to grow engagement among alumni 0–10 years out, in partnership with the MIT Alumni Association.

You will guide the MIT 10 Council to generate engaging programming ideas, lead Pi and Tau Reunions, and oversee the 15th and 20th reunion committees, while producing content for MIT10 alumni at Tech Reunion events and the Alumni Leadership Conference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three years in alumni relations, annual fund, marketing, or public relations in a university or nonprofit setting.
• Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail; discretion and good judgment with confidential information.
• Proficiency with computers and standard applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom).
• Ability to recruit, motivate, train, and manage volunteers.
• Establish effective working relationships with colleagues, alumni, and other constituents.
• Collaborate as part of a team in a diverse service-oriented environment.
• Develop and deliver training sessions; influence others; multitask and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategy to increase engagement lifecycle for alumni (0-10 years out) with MITAA partnership.
• Guide the MIT 10 Council to develop programming ideas and connection opportunities.
• Lead Pi and Tau Reunions and the 15th and 20th reunion committees.
• Develop content for MIT10 alumni at Tech Reunion events and the Alumni Leadership Conference.
• Set and execute strategy to engage current MIT students and transition them into the alumni community after graduation.
