Job summary

Karman Space & Defense, a leader in rapid design, development, and production of mission-critical space and defense systems, seeks a Procurement Agent in Mukilteo, WA. You will lead sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and support program execution through full lifecycle procurement.

The role requires 2+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in procurement and strategic sourcing, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ethical practices and attention to detail.
• A DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Send RFQs to suppliers during procurement phases for programs and proposals.
• Provide strategic sourcing guidance by assessing supplier performance and risks.
• Lead supplier kick-off meetings to ensure production readiness and alignment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor market trends, shortages, and obsolescence risks for proactive management.
• Coordinate Manufacturing Readiness Reviews to assess supplier capacity and delivery.
• Support risk mitigation by evaluating supplier capabilities and contingency plans.
