Job summary

PJT Partners is seeking an Associate for Strategic Advisory in the Industrials sector in New York. The role focuses on evaluating mergers and strategic alternatives, supporting due diligence, valuation work and client meetings across a global team.

You will build and review quantitative models, analyze industry data, and prepare written analyses for management and clients. Candidates typically have 2–5 years of experience and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a relevant field or experience in an Industrials group at a bulge bracket or boutique advisory firm.
• Analytical and detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Aptitude to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Robust organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating, structuring, and recommending financial and strategic alternatives, including the analysis of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic combinations, asset sales and divestitures.
• Supporting day-to-day execution of transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis and negotiating agreements; work with senior deal team members and coordinate the development and review of materials.
• Analyzing financial data and developments in financial markets important to the business of PJT Partners.
• Conducting research of targeted industries to support strategic and financial alternatives analyses and investment opportunities.
• Performing valuation analysis of prospective investment opportunities under consideration, including the assessment of financial risks.
• Comparing a company’s financial data with other companies of the same industry, size and location to the forecast of industry trends.
• Designing and developing quantitative models to assess the economic performance of targeted companies.
• Preparing written analysis and evaluations of investment opportunities for use by PJT Partners management and review by clients.
• Participating in both internal and external client meetings, negotiation of contracts and other agreements and due diligence sessions.
