Job summary

Lindahl Reed is seeking a Senior Advisor on Research and Technology Transition to support the USDA in Washington, D.C. The role provides advisory, analytical and strategic planning support to the Executive Director of the OCS within ORESS.

The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, report to the Lindahl Reed Project Manager, and require extensive experience in research transition and security considerations.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with senior-level officials
• Excellent reporting and data analysis skills
• Excellent proofreading and editing skills
• Experience evaluating complex research portfolios and identifying opportunities and risks
• Experience developing mitigations and opportunities within agriculture business
• Experience assessing technical merit of emerging capabilities and implications for research security
• Experience creating a technical vision and direction plan
• Experience developing high-level product specifications
• Experience mentoring others to develop capabilities

Responsibilities

• Advise the Executive Director of the OCS on transitioning agricultural research to USDA and industry
• Provide research, analytical and strategic planning support to the Office of the Chief Scientist
• Oversee development of capabilities and provide technical guidance/mentoring to team members
