Summary of Position

The Strategic Advisor, K–12 Assessments serves as a high-impact consultant and business strategist, accelerating growth within priority accounts by delivering market-backed insights, competitive intelligence, program management, and strategic direction. This leader reports directly to the Portfolio Vice President (PVP) and collaborates closely to shape and execute go-to-market strategies, focusing on non-incumbent accounts and high-potential opportunities. The advisor will be a key voice at the executive leadership table by offering insights on market complexities and transforming data into clear, actionable recommendations that strengthen the pipeline and accelerate long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with PVP to identify and leverage competitive differentiators shaping pursuit strategies that drive growth and market expansion.
  • Advise executive leadership on bid strategies, providing insight into the assessment landscape to enhance Pearson’s positioning.
  • Guide the Solutions team in maintaining a competitive intelligence framework to optimize proposal quality.
  • Lead the development of the School Assessment marketing approach aligned with Pearson’s broader marketing vision.
Program Delivery Leadership
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal teams and external customers.
  • Drive growth strategy, including scope expansion, renewals, and new product/services.
  • Manage assigned accounts covering scope, schedule, risks, financials, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present program status reports.
  • Identify process improvements and serve as escalation point for delivery issues.
People and Financial Management
  • Engage with team members and managers for success support.
  • Lead, train, develop, and motivate team members.
  • Support financial planning, including revenue, margin, and cost management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum B.A. degree; MBA, PMP, PhD, or Ed.D. preferred.
  • 5+ years in assessment or account management; 10+ years in people management.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in OneCRM, Microsoft Office, and other tools.
  • Some travel required.
Compensation

Salary range: $120,000 - $130,000, plus performance incentives. Benefits details available.
