Job summary

Villanova University invites applications for the role of Director of University Advancement Communication. This senior position leads the Advancement communications strategy, guiding print, web, video and social media, and partners with Alumni Relations, Annual Giving and other departments to advance fundraising and engagement goals.

The Director oversees day-to-day operations, manages a multi-project portfolio, and has responsibility for the department budget and performance cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in communication and marketing.
• Must be able to supervise direct reports and manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have knowledge of communication and marketing, as well as a proven understanding of Advancement.
• Must direct the execution of the Advancement communication strategy and manage daily tactical and budget operations.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to maintain internal/external relationships; ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Directs the execution of the Advancement communication strategy and oversees day-to-day operations of the UAC department.
• Undertakes and manages a portfolio of priority advancement communication initiatives.
• Supervises two Assistant Directors and one Operations Manager.
• Creates and monitors the UAC annual budget and provides financial projections as requested.
• Ensures compliance with the annual performance management cycle requirements.
• Performs additional duties and assists with projects as assigned.
